Solar beech was shockingly beautiful..... i never liked Solar white and this looked really chic and expensive.

The new yellow Applad wall of tall was really fresh and cute.

Am I the only one hugely disappointed with the Solar beech?? I agree that it looks fantastic in the photos; I even delayed my kitchen remodel to wait for it.... but I was hoping for a veneer more like the texture of nexus and tidaholm rather than a foil-type laminate. To me it looks very plastic in person.

i didnt see it in person, but the brochure says the solar beech doorpanels are clear lacquered beech veneer and only the white doors are the foil finish? i dunno....

it IS lacquered veneer. I've seen it in person.

I'm with Turnip, the Solar Beech is STUNNING in real life, it is a beautiful door. and i hate the Solar White with a passion.

Those tall yellow Applad doors are a new size aren't they? The tallest door used to be 64", yes? I wonder if this new size door will be available in the other doorstyles. Anyone know?

Applad specialty colors are now called Applad/Rubrik and they come in the same sizes. you could always get the 80" tall Rubrik so now you can get these too....

i usually hate beech, and would prefer something ligher (birch) or something darker (oak) but from the pictures, the beech solar looks sooooooooooooooooooo smooth and chic. very much like those streamlined wooden kitchens in ultramodern homes / japanese apartments that probably cost more than most people make in a year. especially with a white countertop. oh man, maybe my new favorite.

I was at the Atlanta store this morning and found a ton of great deals; all the markdowns from the 2008 collection seem to be at 75% or more now. Woo hoo! Plus, the new merchandise is starting to roll in.

Good news in Orlando! I opened the Sentinel this morning and it has a 2009 catalog inside. Not sure if this is only available to subscribers, but it's worth buying a paper today!

I love all the new kitchen cabinet colors - especially applad orange. But there are no refrigerators shown in any of the photos! Anyone know what's up with that?
