how to divvy up the funds from
Clicks for Clucks! Thanks to your purchases this holiday season through our affiiliate links, IKEAFANS.com has $200 to
contribute
to our charity of choice, Heifer International.
We have narrowed it down to a few choices, and we'd like your thoughts on how to spend the money!
This choice would provide the gift of an entire Llama as well as a Hope Basket which includes chicks and rabbits.
From Heifer.org:
"Llamas and their kin, the alpaca, provide Heifer families with invaluable sources of transportation, income and wool, which is prized for making blankets, ponchos, carpet and rope.
What can be more hopeful to a struggling farmer than a gift of fast-multiplying livestock? Rabbits are easy to care for and reproduce quickly, allowing their owners to sell the offspring for extra income once they've fulfilled Heifer's "Passing on the Gift" promise; and chickens lay eggs and provide manure for vegetable gardens."
This choice would provide shares of a sheep, a heifer, a goat, rabbits, ducks and chicks in the Dream Basket as well as the gifts of Honeybees and Trees in the Earth Basket.
From Heifer.org:
"These animals [from the Dream Basket] give families milk for nutrition and a source of income. And with additional income there is money for school supplies, medicine and doctor expenses, and improved quality of living. The Heifer Dream Basket offers the hope a family needs for a sustainable future.
Earth Baskets provide two essential gifts: additional income for families and support for the environment. Bees produce honey and wax that supply income when sold at the local market. The Earth Basket also contains tree seedlings which provide shade and fodder for animals and prevent soil erosion."
The additional $20 would be donated to Heifer's Where It's Needed Most giving option.
