Today, I watched a co-worker assembe the laminated versions they keep throughout the store. It was a step up from watching paint dry, and just below grass growing (the random bugs wandering in and out of your field of vision make this more entertaining than the paint thing), and passed the time while I waited for my stuff at FSHO.

Hi Susan, I say shame on Ikea. After saying emphatically that there would be no 2011 kitchen sale except in
Canada
, Ikea comes out with a kitchen sale. I am sure that at least hundreds of people would have waited for a sale when they spent thousands on cabinets etc. Ikeawill not honor any kitchens purchased more than 14 days before the sale. Just had to vent.

Does anyone (maybe an IKEA insider) know when the products will actually be available at the stores (or even online)? It's nice that the catalog is out, but it only serves to tease us if the products are (a) not available at the stores, (b) there is no product availability information on the Ikea website and (c) the website actually states that there will be no available information in the immediate future.
In particular, just as I wondered aloud after building and filling out the Hemnes bookcase, "now, if only they made a Hemnes desk," the IKEA website added the desk as a new product. That was about a month ago. It's in the showroom at the stores, even. But no one can say when it will actually be in stock.
Does any IKEA expert have an idea? Will the products not be available until August (as their catalog usually "renews" at that time)?
