Re: What effect has IKEAFANS had on your IKEA Experience?

My answer was "some," since I was already leaning toward going for IKEA, but the impact that the site had on my actual experience of designing and planning and ordering the kitchen could hardly be overstated! In that way, it was invaluable!

Re: What effect has IKEAFANS had on your IKEA Experience?

I also answered "some," because I came to the site as part of my prep for ordering kitchen supplies from IKEA. However, I am quite sure that IKEAFANS helped me be more sure about placing my current order (closing the deal as it were), as well as more interested in purchasing IKEA products in the future.

I didn't select any option. I had decided on IKEA Kitchen but when I found the site I was thrilled. So my choice had nothing to do wiith IKEA Fans but I am so glad I found it.

Re: What effect has IKEAFANS had on your IKEA Experience?

I also answered "some", as I was leaning strongly towards IKEA. IKEAFANS haven't changed the probability for me choosing an IKEA kitchen, but it has changed the layout of my future kitchen.

Re: What effect has IKEAFANS had on your IKEA Experience?

I said none.
I had already bought our kitchen, which was stored up to now.
Then by accident I found this site and sofar has already been fantastic and a huge help.

Re: What effect has IKEAFANS had on your IKEA Experience?

It didn't effect my decision to go with the Ikea kitchen- for half of the price of bottom quality cabinets from anywhere else, it made that decision easy, but you have all made me feel even better about it, and have been a ton of help!

Re: What effect has IKEAFANS had on your IKEA Experience?

Mucho! (though the kitchen is yet to be planned, even).

After 2 foiled attempts (since 2000) to go to an IKEA store - one due to traffic (Emeryville) and one due to getting off the freeway and not finding the store (Seattle - I was driving by and saw the sign), I finally got into an actual store this week (West Sacramento - 4 hours from home). This time I came armed with google maps, store hours, etc.

I was neve quite sure about doing an IKEA kitchen, but then I found this web site. Afer all of the hours I've spent here reading the great posts and looking at pictures, going to an actual IKEA store was like a kid going to Disneyland for the first time....and I wasn't disappointed.

I brought a coworker (we were in a class all week in Sacramento), and I was explaining all of the door styles to her - she remarked about how much I knew about the product (though I don't feel that way). I think, without Ikeafans, I would have been overwhelmed and got nothing from my first trip to a real store.

I did come away with some cabinets for my laundry area in the garage. I was amazed how low the price was, after getting quotes for Home Depot cabinets at over twice the price (and they weren't nice) and 15x that for Kraftmaid, from Home Depot. The difference is, I love these cabinets!

Re: What effect has IKEAFANS had on your IKEA Experience?

I picked MUCHO because even though I knew of IKEA kitchens, I didn't know their relative quality. I just knew I couldn't afford to go out and hire a KD, GC etc. to get my job done. After reading numerous posts I could tell that there was open dialog about the good and the bad as well as numerous tips and advice to work through issues. I also read enough to get the confidence that i really could tackle this myself and use a handy man/skilled tradesman where necessary. The pictures are of tremendous value because you can see that the IKEA kitchens look every bit as gorgeous, creative and of myriad styles as kichens on another site where people have spent way too much money.

Kudos!
