Painted Fagerland Kitchen

Our kitchen is still not done But that's life with almost 3 year old twins! So come December 23rd we will have been in our house a full year. Maybe by then we will be done! Here are some shots. The main cabinets are painted Cameo White by Benjamin Moore and the Island cabinets are Antique Pewter by Old Village paints. Here are photos!

Dana! That is beautiful! I can't believe your twins are almost 3, but I can certainly believe you're not done yet. I'm not done yet, and I wasn't building a whole house with twin babies..... Gorgeous, gorgeous!

Re: Painted Fagerland Kitchen

i LOVE what you've done!
funny enough, i plan on using Fagerland, painted Fager for the island and an Aga Legacy (absolutely love your 6-4)

Just far too much fun to see your progress, can't wait to see more.

Re: Painted Fagerland Kitchen

This is really inspiring--just beautiful. I love the painted cabinets. And the breakfast nook is a knockout--like something out of Fine Homebuilding magazine.

And you built a home with twin toddlers? My son turns three next month and I know how challenging it can be to finish any sort of project. You're doing this with two of them? Amazing.

Thank you so much for posting these wonderful pictures.

Re: Painted Fagerland Kitchen

Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty! Oh what a fabulous job you've done!
For painting the doors, did you do any sanding first?, primer?, sprayer?, roller?, brush?
Is it working out to be convenient to have the dishwasher across from the sink?
Congratulations. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures with us.

Re: Painted Fagerland Kitchen

Susan! Thank you. The IKEAFANS site looks amazing by the way! I know how I am spending nap time today!!

Laurie - I will definately upload more pics when the banquette is finished. My husband is obsessed with doing it. When he gets hooked on a project he can't stop. Love it when that happens!!

Dulcinea - An Aga Legacy! Lovely! Such a nice change from stainless having that splurge of color on a kitchen. Can't wait to see photos. What color are you thinking of?

Erika - Yes - that's why it's taking us so long :-) I will be showing your Fine Homebuilding comment to my husband. He will grin from ear to ear all day!

Gloria - Thank you! I did not sand. I used a primer specifically for surfaces that are a little shiny. Zinsser Primer Killer. It really should sit for a week after priming to harden completely. I used a paint brush, no rolling. The island cabinets are oil paint (evil. hate. takes too long to dry) but oil is much more durable. I broke down and did latex paint on the Cameo white cabinets in a semi-gloss. I will probably have to do touch up painting on them in the months to come.

So if you can stand it - use oil paint!
