So my
DH
(dear husband) & I have purchased our 1st home. We are excited and apprehensive with the idea of being homeowners...but I think we will relish the idea that we finally have roots and a place to call home.
I love the bones of my home but cosmetically --- it is VERY typical of homes in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area - oak cabinets. (the next 3 pics show the home with the seller*s things)
After considering the options, I have decided to go for the kitchen I want. Instead of watching shows like *I WANT THAT* -- I want to create that. I love the look of contemporary/modern. Plus I feel that it reflects the style of DH & myself. I just have to be careful in this creation for several reasons. We can discuss the money/budget, the time, the stress....but I want to stick with the MAIN issue -- the design.
Our kitchen (if I call it mine from here out..please note that this is my pet project but my DH & I are both involved in this) is in an open layout to the dining room and the family room -- it is one big great room.
Here is a
pic
to show the transition into the dining room. Ahh...more oak.
And a glimpse into the overall family room.
So there it is -- my kitchen....and now let the fun begin.
