| Re: liljestad Kitchen LARGE island
Home Depot, Oak Dental Trim in three sizes. Really once you get a color match for wood, then you can do anything you like. I used plywood ontop of the cabinets painted the same color, bucause it is visible from upstairs. The door in the corner, is a stock ikea door, cut through the middle, nailed to a backer, and sanded and painted to fill in that gap.
I also used oak laminate around the opening for the beer fridge in the island, and laminate under the 2 wall cubbards so if you look under it is color matched like only the most expensive cabinates i've seen.
The angled cabinate is actually just a cabinate angled. So they transition from the 24 inch pot cubbards to a 12 cabinate and filler peice to go around the corner.
I redo all the edge taping as well. I reinforced the kitchen cabinet front, used doors as cover pannets at back and at top of the large pantry.
in the end, some of the mistakes I make earlier in the design end up being you're friend because then you're forced to stop, and figure out solutions and the typical solution ends up being more fancy.
