Thanks! It took me about 8 months to do a complete remodel, but it was all worth it. Me and me missus are very pleased with the outcome.

I have to ask - we are just in the process of determining how many pot lights to install in the ceiling - I notice you have quite a few of them - are they the 3" or 4"?

Is it really bright in there? I know you mentioned in your blog it was bright and just wanted to ask - I am thinking how many I actually need for my space and thought I might ask you for your comments / suggestions and how yours are working out?

Thanks for the question
I had 7 lights bought and they are 3", recessed lights, halogen light bulbs. Bouth them at HD at clearance prices.
I did not have any plan for them in the beginning - I just thought about placing them right above the base cabinets, stove and fridge. In the beginning I planned to install only six, but at the end I installed all seven.


There is the crappy drawing I made to represent how lights on the ceiling are located.

I also placed the lights under cabinets and above the sink. since there were no ligths above the bar/breakfast area, I made a shelf and installed some additional lights in the shelf.
