we got one directly from step2 for my daughter's first birthday (it was more for my 3yo at the time son, but this way she got to play too). she and my son still can't get enough of it 18mos later. it's really well made, and like others have said, something i would have killed for as a child.
i used to have it in a little alcove where i mounted hardboard walls with ribbon moulding and chair rail and a little b&w checkerboard floor i painted on hardboard. if i can find a picture of how it was (before we tried to sell our house so stripped it of everything unique) i'll post it, cause it was really cute (if i do say so myself)
Our daughter saw the picture and wanted to go visit... We had a brief discussion about the distances involved. She's a *bit* vague on the details but inclined to accept that a trip from East to West coast for a playdate is a *bit* much.
I like the one you got much better than the ones on the walmart site... It looks much less plasticy? The appliances look like stainless instead of grey plastic.
