Finally photos!!

I am on dial up now - that's what we get for building a house deep in the woods Still so much to do - oh like - painting the cabinets! But I will get to it, and I will post photos as we go. For now here are some for your viewing pleasure, including one of my twins in a cabinet that I am missing a drawer to. Might keep it that way - they call it their house!

Oh how cozy and homey the house looks. Love the fireplace. The twins found their spot...at least for now. When they grow a little more they won't want it as their "house"...then you can add the drawer and shelf. They sure look cute peaking out.

Thanks Shouva! It is cozy - hopefully we are having our first snow fall this friday. Can't wait.

I will be working on painting the cabinets in the next few weeks - so more photos to come!

It is SO beautiful in your home! The kitchen is as warm as the rest of the house. You are truly creating a homestead, and those adorable little ones are going to become very attached to their home!

I love the little kitchen for them, right in the big kitchen!

How do you find the DW across from the sink to work out? That's an interesting idea and I'm curious!

Thanks Eva! Yes - it is a cute little Target kitchen that they got for Christmas and it works perfectly at the end of the island. I love how it looks and how entertained they are with it. At age 2 the imaginative play is just beginning. Mostly they throw the plastic food and metal pots and pans around. ah well!

I love having the dishwasher in the island across from the sink. I just stand sideways in the kitchen and load it up from the sink or the island. I am sure my rug runner will need to be washed at some point - but that dark plaid weave hides a lot!

I really love thinking about all the memories you and your twins will have of life in this fabulous house. They are so cute, and it is just beautiful. I'm so glad you got your Aga - how do you like it so far?

It looks fabulous... love the adorable photo of the twins in the cabinet ... I'm sure you will love your new home.

I'm in the woods too ... and stuck with dial-up - I can totally relate to slow speed ... and problems with large files! (I telecommute and work from home 100% of the time ... and work in computers - so this is a big limitation for me...)

how do you like the IKEA candle thing ? I bought one thinking I will use it over my dining table (which I do not use very often ...) - a friend of mine thought it was a really bad idea and that I should install an electric light ... have you lit the candles yet ? Did it provide much light - or primarily ambiance ?

Doreen

Kathy - I LOVE my Aga! I smile every time I look at it and I can't stop cooking!! I was doing this recipe at 8:30 this morning and it's in the simmering oven as I write:
BEEF BRAISED IN RED WINE Recipe at Epicurious.com

Doreen - yes dial up is painful and I am a web designer. Thankfully I am not doing much work from home right now! I manage 2 ecommerce web sites 2 days a week for a company and they have high speed.

And the candlestick chandlier thing is actually not Ikea - I got it for about $20 at an antique store in Pennsylvannia, although it is not an antique. Anyway - I love it - that is where the dining table will go when I have one. I think dining by candlelight is the only way to go. It sheds plenty of light in addition to candles on the table and a few electric lights on in the room dimmed to low. I highly recommend it!!
