Here are photos of the small backsplash sample... and more importantly the marmoleum samples...

I'm looking for suggestions on which marmoleum to pick? (The granite shown is not the one we'll be using-- but is a dark green one...)

I'm pretty sure the natural corn is out as it seems to show our cat's hairs -- even in the few minutes we had it down on the ground ;-)

marmoleum- natural corn; silver shadow-- photo 1... (click on them if you want them to be enlarged...)

chabuchie-- thanks... I'm leaning in that direction too.. .what do you think about mixing in a few 12x12s of the silver shadow with planks of the serene gray? Of course, the planks only would be the quickest installation ;-)

I'm seeing a pinky tone in the silver shadow that I don't see in the serene grey. Could you take a picture of the two next to each other?

I vote Van Gogh/Serene Grey. And I love the mosaic tile...it's one of the 'blends' mosaics I have seen in various shops up here and love...<sigh of envy>...

Can't wait to see the finished kitchen.

thanks ourmoneypit-- Dh and I both loved the mosaic right away-- fortunately (?) we have very little backsplash that needs covering, so we need around 15 s.f. of the tile-- the range is going to have stainless steel (from IKEA) behind it and another section of counter has windows ... our store sells it for $20/s.f.

Well, that helps cut down costs...part of our problem is that we will have about 45 sq.ft. of backsplash ...
