Post

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to find a 3/8" square brushed nickel metal bar to use as a trim piece on the drywall right next to the glass tile that makes the back wall of our shower. It would be outside the actual shower wall so it doesn't have to be water proof. I'm trying to match the finish with the fixtures and with the brushed nickel trim piece that's actually imbeded in the thinset and separates the two types of tile (http://www.schluter.com/english/prod...202-index.html). (Sorry, I don't have any pictures to post right now.)

I can find aluminum and SS, but I can't find brushed nickel.

Does anyone know where I can find this?

If you know of a trick to make aluminum or SS look like brushed nickel I'll take that suggestion, too!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks, but I mean a bar of metal, not a handle. More like this - https://www.metalsdepot.com/products...20&aident==

You could take the bars to a metal plating shop. But it might cost more than it's worth.

I've taken both aluminum and stainless and sanded them with a light sandpaper to get a brushed look. It's not good enough to pass a close inspection, but as I always say....if you're in my home inspecting things that closely and you find something that offends you? Well, you can leave.

Hello,
I checked Schulter's page and, although the material is aluminum, if i am not mistaken, they do have what you are looking for -- a brushed nickel finish!

I looked under "Product Sizes, Finishes, & Colors" and almost all the way down found...

DL 625 ANIGB Brushed nickel anodized aluminum

I hope that this helps!

If I am wrong, plating is a good option and not nearly as expensive as I had thought.

Thanks everyone for your input.

Unfortunately Schluter doesn't carry a product that we wanted to use for the edging so we decided to look for other options.

GoD, Your suggestion was confirmed by a number of sources so I think we'll just get a piece of SS bar and brush it to give it a similar finish to the nickel piece we already have embedded in the tile. It will definitely be close enough.

Now we just have to finish installing the siding, radiant heat, and hardwood before I can do the kitchen. Oy. Will I ever get to cook again?
