I've looked at these a number of times and have some friends who put them in their house. I really like the style and the flexibility of the tiles. They look great. I was a little disappointed that its not as comfortable as "real" carpet with the thick pad and extra plush tops. That being said, my friend put them in his basement that tends to flood periodically, so the next time this happens, he can simply hose off the flor tiles, let them dry and slap them back down. Very cool!
That being said, they are pretty good prices here with the discount -- and especially if you like their sale/discountinued styles. They are almost 20" square, so larger than a square foot. If you're interested in these, I would also check out Lowes who has them for special order, but they often have 20% off sales on these (right now I think too). They do have a more limited number of styles than the factory direct site.
Lisa - a brief aside: is your vacuuming problem associated with dog hair? I have a couple low pile rugs that are dog hair magnets, and I was thrilled to find a tool that will brush the hair off. (a tip from someone on THS) You find a mop that has a stiff brush behind the sponge part. Take off the sponge, and you have the most amazing dog hair remover ever.
I might try Flor as a sort of area rug over tile and over laminate flooring, but I need it to stay put. My poor elder dog has arthritis, so I need to lay down some rugs that allow her to come down the stairs without fear. Is the staying put problem caused by the sticky dots not adhering to the floor, or the rug to the dots??
I have a friend with Flor tiles that used an adhesive to make them stay in place... Lisa, did you glue them down? It's supposed to be safe on hardwoods

Our dog doesn't shed...I have no clue why these things are so fuzzy. And they come with a pressure sensitive *dot system* - but they don't stay stuck to my parquet!
