Ordering Nexus Yellow Brown Cabs- in store question
My Cabinet order was placed on 10-31-07 and I was told two weeks, out of curiosity I called IKEA today to check on the status. I was told they were in the store waiting for pic up and have been there for days now... Anyone else find it strange that I never received a phone call?? I only hope now they haven't been "kicking around for that long"

Hi Gloria,
We are picking them up tomorrow- I can't tell you how excited I am to finally "see" the nexus yellow brown, our Ikea only had one door and then a tiny island mockup- that (and pictures of Monica's kitchen) were enough to make us fall head over heals in love. Of course after you order them you start to look in the catalog and see that the grain can vary (as it tends to do with wood) and I am just hoping hoping hoping for beautiful and interesting veneer grains! I will post an update on my blog after we pick them up. Now we are really making progress!

Most of us would open the door and drawer front boxes last so they don't get damaged. But I picture Nexus YB purchasers racing home, sorting all the door/drawer flat packs out and opening them up like Christmas morning - ooohing and ahhhing over every beautiful wood grain variation. Then standing back and admiring them as a group - with different finishes nearby - with different lightings etc. Only then realizing that they are in the middle of a construction zone and now they have a stack of door fronts to pack away lest they get damaged in the chaos!!

Zeuss you are too funny- the scene was pretty much what you described... all the boxes are in the house and I have inspected all of them! The grain is great- a few outshine the rest, so I think it will be a good mix... now to play with which doors will be next to which doors (since we have a bunch of 12" in a row for the uppers!
