I'm using the kitchen cabinets to do my bedroom closet. I'm getting 7 24" high cabinet boxes, 10 2pks of drawers, and a 4 2pks of shelves. My small SUV won't fit all of the order. They can't tell me how much delivery will be until I actually place the order.

Without specific information, how should I decide whether to rent a truck to get my order home or rent a truck to do it myself? I live about 7 miles from the store.

In our area, delivery has a minimum fee of $99. They should be able to confirm the mimimum fee at your store.

If you are 7 miles away, rent a U-Haul. A lot cheaper.

Are you sure it will not fit in your SUV?
I rented a Uhal with a 10' bed (enclosed) for our kitchen cabinets approx 40 linear feet of cabinets and wand wall cabinets. Now I know the order would have fit in one of their vans or even in the bed of a full size truck.

You should be able to rent a small U-haul enclosed trailer for about $20 a day if you have a tow hitch on your SUV. They can install one for you, but then you'll have to pay for the hitch too.

A more costly alternative is to rent a cargo van from Enterprise rent-a-car. I've done it twice. Regrettably, the second go was probably not necessary--my Ford Focus station wagon is surprisingly capable of holding Billy bookcase components.
