I am doing Adel MB in my kitchen with birch frames. I want to use one horizontal cabinet over a desk area. Since they only come in white, I am nervous because I have glass cabinets on either side of the horizontal.

When I was placing my order, the IKEAn said I could buy a standard 15x39 wall birch cabinet and turn it sideways. The only thing missing would be the Ferrarri (horizontal) hinges. Has anyone done this? If so, how did it work out and where did you get the hinges?

Hi Kimberly! It's not recommended to hang cabinets sideways- IKEA cabinets are just not engineered for that. Others have cut them down to size, so in your instance making them shorter. This is very common in over the refrigerator cabinets which seem to be different for every kitchen!

I'm really wondering now...

IKEA East Palo Alto has a slew of horizontal 30" cabs in their kitchen marketplace display, ALL BIRCH FINISH. They're set up to display the wine glasses, and have glass shelves and in-cabinet lighting.

???
So the 30" horizontals are now available in Birch, but the 39" horz. are not???
