Covina, CA. I-10, exit Barranca Ave. and go north about a block. Enter either at signal light (IKEA on the lighted street sign) to get to the garage parking, or enter off Workman Ave. (the next street up) to reach the upper level open parking.

3. Best time/day to visit - also, times to avoid
Weekday mornings and early afternoon is usually light. It can get busy at times on weeknights. Avoid weekends if you desire some quiet time, as it is always busy.
4. Best parking place!
I perfer parking in the covered garage, though that does require an elevator trip. No major preference for what area to park in. Those wanting the fastest exit will do better in the open parking area, however.

6. Shortcuts to Kitchens, etc.
There is no shortcut to the Kitchen beyond cutting through the sofa section a little bit, no real shortcut. Simply just follow the regular Showroom path.
Fastest exit from the Marketplace is between kitchen stuff and linens, which leads into the plants section and out to the warehouse.
7. How to get to AS-IS
From the entrance, there's a Marketplace entrance just to the left of Smalland. Enter through there, cut left through to the kitchen stuff and take the shortcut to the plants/warehouse. Continue through the warehouse - the AS-IS department is located right before the cashiers, all the way to the right.
8. Other tips/tricks, like I know in my store they can ring you up in Kitchens so you don't have to hoof it downstairs and then wait an hour and a half for Cash and Carry. What secrets do you know?
In the AS-IS department, you can ask for a plastic baggie and fill up on whatever hardware you can find from the big blue bin for $5.
Plus, all the Australian stores, those in the rest of East Asia, the Middle East and all of Europe. The only stores outside of North America that we have are Istanbul and Athens. PLEASE! Help us to fill out our directory!

I'll give what I can off the top of my head - I'm going in next week and will pick up a store map to scan.

3. Best time/day to visit - also, times to avoid
Best time is immediately upon opening on a weekday, especially Monday. Weekends are best avoided if at all possible, although after dinner on Sunday is usually good. Wednesdays can be busy if they are running a particularly good special (every Wednesday a different product is heavily discounted).
However, if you are attempting a return, they usually don't have enough people working customer service on weekday mornings. Weekday afternoons are better for returns, although the store itself will be busier.
4. Best parking place!
Not many options if it's busy. It's often fastest to turn right immediately upon entering the lot and taking the first spot you see. You'll be parked far away, but you won't spend 15 minutes negotiating the terrible traffic in the cramped and poorly-designed lot.
5. Avg. time allowed for Smalland deposits.

6. Shortcuts to Kitchens, etc.
Shortcut to kitchens: go up the stairs, then turn right towards the restaurant at the top of the stairs instead of left (left begins the showroom circuit). Go backwards through the kid's section and you are at kitchens.
7. How to get to AS-IS
Fastest way: sneak backwards through the checkouts if you can find one where they've left the gate open enough to let you pass. As Is is immediately to your right.
If you don't want to cut through the checkouts, you can go into the marketplace, take the shortcut (by heading straight instead of turning left into the market) to the warehouse. As is by the cash registers - coming through the warehouse, it'll be on your left. Burlington's As-Is section is TINY, but frequently stocked. Worth checking when you arrive and again when you leave.
8. Other tips/tricks, like I know in my store they can ring you up in Kitchens so you don't have to hoof it downstairs and then wait an hour and a half for Cash and Carry. What secrets do you know?
When you arrive at kitchens, make sure to sign in! They try and expediate things as much as possible with the sign-in process, but be prepared to wait, especially on weekends. Best bet is to get to the store as soon as it opens for breakfast. Have a coffee and a $1 breakfast, then make your way to kitchens so you can (hopefully) be the first person waiting when the kitchens staff start work a half hour after the store opens.
One other thing to be aware of - there's a daycare connected to the IKEA, and a couple of very tempting always open parking spaces right up front are reserved for the use of the daycare. Check the signs before you park in that too-good-to-be-true space!

Oh, and AS-IS (for het genot) in North America is the recycle room - returned, damaged, discontinued or reclaimed display products are for sale at reduced prices. Surely you have something similar?

3. Best time/day to visit - also, times to avoid Friday night at dinner time is perfection! Saturday and Sunday afternoons are dreadful. Most weekday afternoons aren't great either.
4. Best parking place! I usually park near the returns so I can get out easily.
5. Avg. time allowed for Smalland deposits. No idea, I'm afraid. They refuse to go in <--insert rolling eyes and shaking head smiley What is wrong with my children?
6. Shortcuts to Kitchens, etc. I usually go up the escalator and take a right towards the restaurant and cafe. I scoot through the shortcut in Children's Ikea to get to Kitchen & Dining.
7. How to get to AS-IS Park near returns. Enter the returns entrance. Find an open register that doesn't have the alarm-rigged gate down and take a right. As-Is is right behind the Returns department.

I have tried to return products after 45 days and with no receipt ('course without a receipt noone but me knows that they're past due) and it was a no go. Person at returns told me that her manager had instituted a new policy as of the new year and No Receipt = No Refund. No exceptions. Blech.

Burbank is the busiest store in the LA Market. Its hard to guage the best times to visit. Stay away on the weekends. Any weekday between 2-6pm seems to be the quietest time in the store

Burbank has a tough parking situation. The parking structure across the street is the only place to park. You need your receipt to enter into the loading zone in front of the store. Nights and weekends, you can park in the WAMU parking lot...just be careful that their isn't a guard watching...they will tow.

Sorry,...no little ones. Last time I checked is was 60 minutes. If they are slow, they might alow a longer time, buy you have to check in at the end of the original 60 minutes

At top of stairs, continue right through the sofa dept. You will see a shortcut before you hit bookcases. The shortcut will be on your right and lead you into the dining department. Kitchen planning is to your right of dining.

If you are there at opening, go throught the returns door (which opens 15 minutes prior to store opening) and wait by the bistro. Once the rope comes down, you can go through the cashlanes to the as-is dept.

If you have questions about kitchens, check with Ivana or Mark at the Burbank store. They are the most knowledgable. Kitchen orders to be picked-up can take the better of 2 hours....so be prepared. DONT PICKUP A KITCHEN ON A WEEKEND
The Burbank store along with Covina, Carson and Costa Mesa just started a flat rate for installation. The pricing is similar to New Haven....$99 per cabinet for full installation. There are additional charges for any modifications that you may need.
