Pick up day!

We will be picking up our kitchen on the 13th of this month! The staff that helped us order our kitchen, said that the kitchen will arrive on the 12th. I know this is not a perfect world, has anyone had any problems with not receiving everything the day of pickup? We are renting a moving truck that day, and traveling 2 hours to Ikea and another 30 minutes to Lumber liquidator to pick up our counter tops and cork flooring.

I'm expecting to run into a couple snags but I was wondering if you all could give me a heads up on what I could do to minimize those snags.

Thanks a ton for all your help. Our family really appreciates the wise responses we get on Ikea fans website.

Woo hoo! Let the fun begin! I picked up my IKEA order all on the same day I ordered it because I was lucky and mine was in stock. It seems alot of people have one or two items that end up on backorder so definitely plan on a return trip to IKEA at some point.

Between now and then, review your order and just double check that everything they ordered you was right. Then, on the day you pick all your stuff up, just be really diligent about checking it all off your order. It takes a long time, but it's worth it in the end.

One suggestion is to create a spreadsheet from your draft order, and sort it by article number. Then when you're collecting your things, it will be easy to check off items - you'll have lots of carts and will be feeling the pressure to just sign for the load, but you really should check each and every thing off and look for obvious damage to boxes.

It's exciting, isnt' it???
