Hi - couldn't find the right place for this, so hopefully someone will place it correctly.
About 3 years ago, we bought a 2 and 3 seater sofa from Ikea in Ashton,
Manchester
(
UK
).
They've been great, but unfortunately, the three seater broke last night, when someone sat on it.
It looks like either the springs went, or the frame broke, but it's hard to tell, as the cushions are all sewn in.
Anyway, I've seen that some Sofa's are covered by a 10 yr guarantee, but I'm struggling to find my receipt.
I've found the Sofa, on the US site, and on the it's called "VRETA"
The Sofa isn't for sale on the UK site, I've checked each one, and this name rings a bell.
I've called IKEA UK, and they don't recognise this name, and they're not allowed to go on other websites, so they couldn't check the US one.
Does anyone recognise this name, and do you know what guarantee it came with - in the UK?
Anyone had any issues with this? 3 years seems a very short time, and it's in a room that the kids don't bother with, so it only gets infrequent adult use.
If it's not under warranty, I'm sure under consumer rights that 3 yrs is not a "Reasonable length of time"
