I went to buy4 more cabinets this weekend. I now have 2 wall cabinets and one lazy susan installed. Oneboxhad a damaged corner. As a result, all 4 pieces in that cornerwere all damaged and crumbled. I am not sure if the box was damaged before I got it, or it was damaged by me.

Will Ikea take it back and allow me to get a new box? I plan to go there again next Sunday. I have 5 more cabinets to buy. Probably two more trips if more items need to be replaced.

By the way, those particle boards look pretty on the wall,but they sure are fragile.

If you've got your receipt (I assume you do) and your return is within 45 days (longer usually for kitchens), then yes, they'll take it back. You should have no problem at all with your return, aside from perhaps a long line.

Have you and DW settled on a door style?

Yup... HEAVY and fragile. But the trade off is dimensional stability, that's why they're used so much. Drop a box on it's corner on concrete though... Bad for the cabinet and worse for your toes!:shock:

My wife and daughter finally decided on the color of wall which I painted quickly last week in case they change their mind. It is a lighter shade of beech type of color supposedly go well with the Kalsebo Beech (her choice) door.

After I installed the 3 cabinet frames with birch color, they like the color combination so much,my wife now wants to reconsider Adel Birch! I already bought 5 doors of Kalsebo Beech!

Now, I love my wife, but her undesiciveness is driving me nuts. :shock: I think this is what I should do, instead of returning the 5 Kalsebo Beech doors I already bought plus that damaged top cab for fridge, I am going to order 3 Adel Birch doors, and line themup side by side for a week and see which onewould beher final answer.....

Sounds like a swell idea. The nice thing is, you shouldn't have any trouble returning the cabinet doors that don't get chosen. Try doing that at the Evil Orange or even better, one of the high end kitchen shops! I don't think so...
