Ran across an older article with very interesting insight to the workings at a 1-million square foot Ikea distribution center in "middle of nowhere" Tejon, CA ...

IKEA at home on the range - 4/1/2002 - Modern Materials Handling

Beyond the amount of engineering into their system and layout from the onset, I found their reuse of the shipping company's containers to be very clever too!
