I really enjoy reading about designers/contractors/architects being their own clients. Interestingly, these folks almost always go with great looking but economical kitchens.

I think it's a lovely home but think it's weird that they say he "tried to avoid using shiny or polished materials..." and then used Abtrakt red and Rubrik black for cabinets...

Maybe it's just me, but they've always seemed kinda...shiny.
