| need reassurance: Akurum hardware
I'm about 400 miles from my nearest store, and things have been too busy for me to get in there.
I'm going to order some cabs for my laundry, but the flaws in the Ikea website [won't let you choose your fronts for certain base cabs] has slowed me down. If the laundry cabs work out, I'll go ahead and order what I need for the kitchen.
But if I use my second choice company [Scherrs] instead, I need to order very soon.
So I'd like some reassurance that I won't be dissapointed with the hinges and drawer systems. To me, great hardware is probably the single most important part of a cab: boxes can be re-inforced, doors upgraded, but if the hardware is wrong, you'd just as well start over.
Tell me how you like your hardware: are the drawers smooth running, gentle stopping, and sturdy? Have you ever worried that a big canister of flour would be too much? Have they stayed square over time?
Do the hinges have soft close, do they open wide enough?
Is it as good now as the day that you installed it? Will it last for years and years?
