These are the best videos I have ever seen on exactly what an IKEA kitchen can offer you. They come from the House & Home website, a Canadian shelter magazine and television show. Each video is about three minutes long, packed with information! Well worth watching if you really want all the details about everything IKEA has for kitchens.
Kind of interestingly, the handles used by the designer were my second-choice. Otherwise, just like the video, I now have a Tidaholm kitchen with granite countertops that look nearly like Kashmir White, but with more large-scale pattern.

&H and the magazine is featuring many more IKEA kitchens than before. I think they publicized this partnership in one of the past issues. It's great as I love the magazine, but over the years it's become more of a concept mag, as in "looks pretty but I can't afford anything in here". But this past year they've showed some great kitchens that are much more affordable.
Actually, our other big home magazine, Style at Home, also features IKEA kitchens et al. pretty regularly. One of the designers, Samantha Pynn, has a new show on HGTV

called Style By Design and she frequently does IKEA kitchens since her mandate is eco-chic, affordable style.
You'd think with all this exposure, I'd have a better idea of what I want to do in my kitchen!

&H subscription up until a few months ago when I started seeing more "affordable" luxuries and even some really good frugal ideas.
I noticed that in both magazines there is now a full page ad on page three of each issue.
It all makes sense now......

Here's hoping the downturn will fuel more interest in going with affordable IKEA kitchens. An interview on NPR with one of the IKEA Charlotte folks hinted at that, so keep 'em crossed.

I've noticed HGTV using IKEA on many occasions. They don't normally point out that fact, but I can pick out IKEA cabinets when they're used.
You know what would be fantastic? An IKEA show on HGTV...dedicated to designing your home with
IKEA products
only. Yeah, I know...another half hour infomercial is just what TV needs. But, c'mon people...it's IKEA!!! It would be interesting.
And we could get Susan to be the host of the show! How awesome would that be?
