A Freden wall cabinet for ~$5. ... no shelves or back, but it'd work nicely enough for what I'd be doing with it - mounting it in front of the old cutout and making an extra deep medicine cabinet. IKEA | Cabinets & shelves | Cabinets | FREDEN
A Fjus shelving unit for $3 ... missing the cross brace, but I have extras, as I bought a pile when the old Journalist series was discontinued. IKEA | Storage furniture | Shelving units | FJUS
Finally, a cart full of Lindmon blinds ... essentially had to double what I needed to get my bases covered on the mounting hardware and broken slats aspects, but for $50, I'll be able to do 3 complete rooms, not just one window. IKEA | Curtains & blinds | Blinds | LINDMON
PS: thanks to Livinwell for helping me push one of the carts out.

Narf - looks like you got some more great bargains in the as-is room... more than you were looking for. That's very cool that livinwell helped you push one of the carts out ... I'm intrigued ... did you just happen to run into each other and mention IKEAFANS ? - or did you plan to meet ?? I like to hear the stories of people meeting in real life that have "met" online ... so please share more ...

We first met up on Sunday to exchange a door + the $50 coupon.
Last night, it was sheer coincidence that we met again when I was checking out.

That's pretty cool Narf ... and quite the lucky coincidence since you found so much stuff in the as-is room and could use a helping hand. I always wonder if there are other members of IKEAFANS at IKEA when I go there ... my IKEA is about a two hour trip - so I don't go as often as I'd like to go!

They just happened to have wheeled a couple carts out, hence why there was a good selection.
There's only so much I can take, though, and there are times when I just got to say "enough!". Unlike a fellow regular at Covina, I don't have a 40' shipping container to store surplus Ikea pieces in.
Stuff that gave me a good lesson in what to avoid for any real purpose other than for the boards themselves: Reputation ... how Ikea earned it.

I'm pretty certain that there are Ikea customers who can't follow directions, nor have any common sense ... because the customer returned Pax (39x93 in BB) I picked up had all 12 holes that were for the cam screws stripped out.
Recovery didn't bother rebuilding it ... but for $3.25 complete, I will! As the Pax side panels are mirror images, all I have to do is build it "upside down" and cover 6 of the damaged holes as they will be visible.
Haven't bought too much else otherwise ... I really didn't need that $15 Fusion table, y'know.

I found all of the pieces for a large PAX wardrobe for just $11 yesterday -- except the hardware. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can use? It seems to be rather specialized. Does Ikea sell the hardware for assembly separately, does anyone know?
Download the instructions from the Ikeapedia, then make a note of the hardware. Ask the next time you're at the customer service desk at Ikea.
For a complete setup's worth, they might charge like 10 cents/piece, or a few bucks total for it all.
Say "you lost the hardware" ... receipts will be asked for if you said "it was missing".
