Oh, how much I would love to live in Portland! Thanks for the tip - wonder if they have an online presence...getting Oregon magazine here in Virginia might be a challenge. Though I could live vicariously through the magazine each month...

Beautiful, crowded, and the as-is folks are pretty good at the bargains. It depends who's on shift. A lot of what we could get in renton as self-serve is full-serve. So it is a bit of a pain to have to actually do a full serve order for a set of hinges or capital legs. The sales signs are starting to show after the first month so I hope it will get better. We'll have to see in the winter. Renton (Seattle) has full covered parking. Here we just get wet in Oregon. Nothing new there.

The most important part highlighted.

That happens to be the biggest holdback about bothering to visit the other 3 local Ikeas down here ... bigger markdowns @ Covina over Carson, Burbank, or Costa Mesa.

Nothing new at all ... though the last few times I was up there, there wasn't that much rain. I suppose if I visited in anytime other than late spring/summer, though, it'd be vastly different.

I have noticed very very few carwash places in PDX.
