Hi folks,

I am new to Ikeafans, and have been finding lots of useful info around this site - eg a really useful list of drawer dampers and integrated rails with article numbers made checking my ikea order easier. In the past, we have installed an Ikea kitchen 4 floors up in Edinburgh - that stuff is heavy! This will be our first experience with Ikea Direct in the USA.

Now I am about to order cabinets for our laundry room and half bathroom - any comments would be welcomed. I am planning on using the deep Numerar sink in a 24" standard base cab as I wanted the door fronts on the base cabs to look similar ie no drawers or fake drawer fronts.

In the half bath, we are hoping to squeeze a 30" sink base into a room that is 31 3/4 " wide - we may need to take the trim off the door to get the cab into the room ....

Any thoughts / comments?

Hi Rosemary, welcome to IKEAfans!

Are you using Abstrakt Red cabinets in the laundry room? How fun! Since I just see one tall washer there, I assume it's a stacked washer/dryer? That deep Numerar sink is great, isn't it?

In the attached half-bath, I see a small wall cab. Is that for above the toilet? Since they're 12" deep I always thought it would stick out too far but I guess it isn't a problem if it's up high enough.

Thanks for your input, Gloria. That is a good point about the depth of the above toilet wall cab - perhaps we'll modify it and make it shallower. I plan on covering the base of the wall cab with a cover panel, so it will still look good if it is reasonably high.

We have white stacking washer/dryer as you thought, red abstrakt, and dark grey tile for the floor ... should be a vast improvement on what was there!

We have a 24"x24" wall cab high over our toilet and there's no problem re. height--but it's as close to the ceiling as possible.
