Hi, can the summera drop in files be added to the low add on unit if it is not the lowest unit closes to the base? The reason I ask is that the ikea home planner does not allow me to do so.

It kind of depends on the base you're using... Here's the guidelines I've seen:

Castor base: Max 3 units, Max 1 file - only on bottom unit
Aluminum base: Max 5 units, Max 1 file - only in 3 bottom units
Plastic base with legs: Max 5 units, 3 files max - only in bottom 3 units
Wood base: Max 5 units, 1 file max - only in bottom 3 units
