Question Sultan Tuvebo Mystery!

Hello Ikea Fans, I have a question for you:
the tuvebo mattress pad sold in North America, is made of polyester batting and memory foam, while the same pad sold everywhere else in the world, is made of lambswool and pinhole latex. Brochures and website in the USA occasionaly describe the pad being made of latex and lambswool, however I have only found that the one sold at the store are the memory foam polyester combo. The latest Ikea Mattresses pillows and quilts brochure (the green one) describe the tuvebo being made, well you guessed it-of latex and lambswool. What is going on? I was in Italy visiting my mom, and she has the latex one, wich is waaay more comfortable than the memory foam one that I own.
So clearly i want the latex one. Will it be available? Can somebody help? Thank you so much!

Re: Sultan Tuvebo Mistery!

Everywhere else in the world, things are in metric.

We're stuck with the English system here in the US

As such, the mattress lineup is somewhat different to those in other markets.

(Years back, they were the same; you can imagine the confusion it caused to the many folks who don't understand metric, though!)

Re: Sultan Tuvebo Mistery!

Would be nice if the same product were made of the same material worldwide, though. I'm wondering if there's been a change and perhaps some of the documentation is not error-free . It's possible that if the mattress pad is in transition from the polyester/memory foam to lambswool/latex that they're going to sell all the current stock before bringing in the new...

But I'm just speculating here.

Welcome to IKEAFANS, though it looks as though you've been lurking for a while! Glad you decided to post!

Susan

how about the US market is so full of useless lawsuits that they use those material to avoid getting one from people allergic to latex or something ?

Re: Sultan Tuvebo Mistery!

um...as far as I know you cannot sue someone in the U.S. for using latex in a product as long as it is listed in the product description. Also--Ikea sells latex mattresses in N. America, so that would not be a logical conclusion.
