I was wondering if anyone can help me? I am desperately in need of fixing my malm 6 drawer chest. We just got it and less than 3 months, the top 2 drawer doors just fell auugh! And one of the drawer bottoms just is not holding up. I use this mainly in our bedroom to hold clothes. I was wondering if anyone has come across my predicament too? I love the Malm series don't get me wrong...Should I even salvage our drawer? ANd if so...short of sounding so helpless...which I am arrrgh! What did you guys and gals use to fix yours? Or even suggest? Not good at the DIY thing but would really want to try...I don't want to mar the malm chest as it is..
Thanks,

I need to fix mine as well. What are the little gray things for the drawer bottoms??? And my top 2 drawers don't align anymore. Somehow the perpendicular piece of wood that screws into the top is falling out.
The little grey wedges are used to keep the drawer bottoms tight and in place. They go under the drawer, in between the drawer bottom and the back piece - check the end of your instruction book for visual assistance.
As for the drawer divider "falling out", it sounds like you might not have tightened the cam locks that hold it in place. Pull out the top two drawers, push the divider back up towards the top, then tighten the two locks.

The Malm chest doesn't come with the wedges, but I have strengthened my daughter's considerably with the judicious use of small angle brackets:
1 on either side of the center top divider, attached on the side of the divider and under the top of the dresser, and 1 (or two, on the larger drawers) underneath the drawer bottom, attached to the bottom of the back of the drawer to make a little tiny "shelf" for the bottom to rest on. You have to disassemble the entire drawer but that's not a big deal.
Maybe the "lack of wedges" is a new thing, but as of 2 weeks ago - when I assembled my last Malm 6 drawer - it came with the wedges, and they have for as long as I can remember. They are included for all of the large drawers, so a 6 drawer would have 4 of them, a double would have 6, etc. They would not be in the narrow chests.
If you check the instructions here at the website, you'll see what they look like.
