I bought the Lycksele Havet sofa bed last November, but have barely used it to sit on, let alone use as a bed. I just had a houseguest who used the bed for the first time. Two nights in, all the plastic hinges that connect the two upright pieces ( ie the back support, and the actual back of it when it's in it's sofa position) shredded and split.

I don't have a receipt. Do you think if I go to Ikea they'll give me replacements? There's three parts I believe, the bits of which I have in a bag.

I'm pretty disappointed that this would happen seemingly so easily for what whilst not the most expensive sofa bed Ikea offer, is definitely not the cheapest.

The same thing happened to mine, except it's been in daily use by our daughter for over two years, so I expected that something would eventually break!

We wired the two pieces together and bungee-corded the front and back pieces to allow it to open and close. I'm going to IKEA at the end of the month and I will ask about the hinge then. Please let me know if you find out anything!

We purchased the same sofa bed for our apartment in Mallorca , and the same thing happened 3 hinges broke and IKEA can't help me and I wanted to pay for new ones, so if anyone knows where I can get replacements, it would be appreciated.
