Below is a video clip from HGTV's Small Space, Big Style featuring the TROMSÖ loft bed and a few other Ikea products. The space this guy is living in looks to be around the same size as the apartment I'll be moving into so I think I'm going to get it. Questions:

1. I'm 6' 5"; will I fit? (I currently sleep on a Queen size)
2. What Ikea mattress do you suggest to go along with the bed? Other mattress brands recommended?

I think if you're 6'5", you would bonk your head on the standard 8' ceiling...the Tromso is very close to the ceiling! If you've got higher ceilings you'll be fine.

I can't speak to the size of the mattress because I've got the twin size Tromso, so I don't know how big the big one is. You could do a search on the forums though!

Thanks. If the ceilings aren't tall enough then I'll just cut the legs like some others have done. As far as fitting, I meant the length of the bed rather than the height.
