I have a Queen Malm bed that I bought, used....Missing the center bracket but I did get the the 4 brackets that go up like a diamond. Replaceable or shoud I just rig something with metal rods/brackets?? Thanks...

You can go to the "returns" area and ask one of the clerks if they have any of those pieces in stock. They sometimes open complete boxes just to get a part or two from them. They are very helpful in the White Marsh IKEA.
It sounds as tho all you are missing is the Hamar Midbeam. IT sells for around $10. The midbeam is one of the most "forgot-to-buy" items. They don't put enough attention to the fact that it is needed AND seperate.
Last time I looked the midbeam article # is 200.892.23.

Do you know if the new and old Malm beds have the same mid beam? Mine is warped and I need a new one but it is an older bed.

You can use the current version of the mid-beam with your Malm bed, without having to change the brackets on the head- and foot-boards.

The new mid-beam is called Skorva; it is Article #901-245-34, and is a vast improvement over the old Hamar unit.

About these midbeams: I bought my MALM bed online, and nowhere was I notified that I had to buy the midbeam separately. I even double checked the website to make sure I wasn't overlooking it. All this attention for the slats, but none for the midbeam. Now I have to wait another 5 business days before I can use the bed. Very frustrating

I was at a customer's house today to put together a Hopen bed, and she didn't have a mid-beam, either. She bought her bed in the store, and it seems that a co-worker told her she had "everything" she needed, despite NOT having the mid-beam.

OOPS!!! I hate when that happens.
