I'm very interested in purchasing an IKEA bed. I'm too far away from a store and don't have a vehicle big enough to bring one home on my own. :-)

Has anyone ordered from a store and had it shipped to them? Can you give me an idea on shipping costs?

I'd rather not order from IKEA Direct because their shipping has become outrageous, etc.

Every store contracts out the delivery service to an outside company so every IKEA has a different delivery company.

In the VA and MD stores it starts at $79 for up to 20 pieces within a certain range. The farther out the more it costs and less available delivery dates. If you come early enough you might be able to do next day, if not, the next. Or whenever is preferable. You cannot, however, pick you delivery window, just the day.

Again, every store is different. I would call you IKEA and see what their delivery company is and do a google search on their track record. A lot of times if there are issues with delivery, IKEA can't do much to assist you because they didn't do the delivery, the outside company did and you signed the outside company's delivery form.
