Have a computer desk. It is a tall white has two doors on the top a flipdown door with a silver hinge/assist. The silver hing broke.

The broken hinge is still a fairly common IKEA item, though I'm drawing a blank as to what other pieces it's used on. If you take the broken one to your local IKEA, you could sift through the spare parts bins in Returns to find a match.

As for the name of your piece, maybe our Macks will be along to help you out - she's a whiz at that stuff.

Well we tried to show the part to the people in the minnesota ikea and they didn't seem to have a clue. but yes hopefully someone will come along.
my other option was to call customer serv and email them the link to the picture.

I did some poking around, but "white" and "desk" still give me way too much to choose from... can you narrow down what year you may have bought the piece? I'll keep digging!

Well I can ask my wife.. but I think it would have been between 2002 and 2005

You've got the MIKAEL wall-mount workstation. The instructions I've attached list the part #s for the hinges, so at least they'll have something concrete to go with. Your beautiful workstation is featured in the 2004 catalog, and was discontinued in August of 2005.

I just flipped through catalogs with my fingers crossed... I've got them from 2002 'til now -- and thankfully your piece was early on, in 2004.

If it hadn't been in the catalog, I'm not quite sure what I would have done next...
