Newbie Needs Bed/Mattress Help

I'm new here and also a newly divorced father than needs a place for my 7-year-old twin daughters to sleep. Budget is a concern but I also don't want to waste money on something that won't last. On the flip side, the girls only spend 4 nights a month with me so something that would last a couple of years in a traditional situation should last me (and them) a lot longer.

I'm toying with the "MYDAL" bunk beds (space is also an issue) but I have no idea what kind of mattress to get. Foam? Latex? Spring? The girls are pretty much of average height and weight is that makes a difference.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

Re: Newbie Needs Bed/Mattress Help

At their age, I would lean towards an all-foam mattress of medium firmness. You don't want something too soft that won't offer adequate support, nor something too firm that makes it uncomfortable for their current weight.
