So after 2 weeks of waiting with literally NO PLACE to sit in my apartment besides my bed, I got my Manstad sofa with right storage in Beige. But I was a little worried because I'm probably going to adopt a dog soon and I'm also pretty clumsy.... So I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with scotch guarding an Ikea sofa and how that turned out. Thanks!

The process shouldn't be any different from spraying any other upholstered item, so I don't think there's anything to worry about, really.

Thanks. I didn't think so, but sometimes these things turn out badly. Actually, I went to put the sofa together last night and found that one of the pieces had literally shattered in the box. I believe it is part of the chaise/storage section. I think it happened when the delivery guys took it off the dolly. All of the boxes came shrink wrapped together and I couldn't lift it to inspect the bottom. After I cut it open and removed the other plastic covering on each box I found the damage. Ikea said they would call me in 24-48 hrs to discuss my options. I just hope I don't have to wait too much longer to sit someplace other than the floor or my bed! I'm also getting a TV soon and the only place it can go is in front of the area reserved for my sofa. I guess I'll just put a big piece of paper on the floor in the shape of the sofa and pretend to lounge comfortably while I wait!
