Does IKEA sell replacement cusions for the poang chair and footstool? I currently have black cushions but they don't really match my new apartment. I'm specifically looking for the cream colored cushions. If IKEA doesn't sell them, are there any other places I could find them? Thanks!

My black cushions are no where near black now that they are coated in every kind of remodeling dirt possible and faded from being the only cushioned seating in the entire downstairs. (Oh the fights we've had.... )

Yes you can get replacement cushions. They're usually in the self-serve furniture area next to the frames. I'm not sure how it worked when you bought yours but today you have to buy the base and the cushions seperately.

In Australia they start at $59 each for the base model. The most popular cushion is about $89 and leather is more (obviously). For other countries, please visit ikea.com and follow the links as prices may vary from store to store. I think that the footstall price is aobut $20 for the medium model.

Just as a reference I bought the black leather replacement cushions and I think it was $49 for the footrest and $119 for the chair.

Isn't it possible to get your own foam padding instead of buying another cushion (cover and padding) from IKEA?

There must be places where you can get a custom foam piece cut, like maybe one of those memory foam. It would certainly be an upgrade over the stock item.

There is a zipper which you can open to remove/insert padding.

Sure. I know my mom always goes to a local foam supply place to get pieces for her project.

The reason I got all new cushions is because my black cloth ones were faded and dirty from our remodel. It was really nice to get the leather ones. They are so easy to clean!

My kids are totally hooked to our poang chair and it gets way too much use. The cushions look really worn but I can't find a replacement cushion color/design I like at Ikea. I'm thinking of getting custom upholstery so it at least looks decent (in a nice modern orange/red fabric). The current red is way too cherry color for me and the orange is...well...too orange.

Any ideas/thoughts on how to do this right? Also, do you know if Ikea is planning on coming out with new designs soon?
