mirror will be hung over a 37x44 window at the side of the house (so the back of the mirror won't be seen from the street), extending below the sill to the top of a future-state vanity table. I can't handle window coverings. Will continue HOPEN around the other side of the room when current closet opening has facings removed (e.g., as usual, the doors are currently smaller than the whole closet creating spaces you can't reach. Take those out and you have access to the whole space to build- say- a wardrobe into).
Does Hoppen come with handles or do I need to get those as well?
Oh yea, I forgot to mention that when I added all this up, it was $777. I found that comforting. To be fair, I did round up the cost of NON by a penny.
We were looking at their wardrobe section and were very impressed. Is this the type that could be set up in a closet? We have some closets in the house with shelves that DH put in and they're too deep and high so all the clothes come tumbling dowm when you stack it too high:? Basically it's a zoo in there.
HOPEN and PAX both have components (like drawers, shelves and other organizational pieces) that can be used inside existing closets, and IKEA has things like ANTONIUS and STOLMEN shelving that could be used inside a closet.
But the ones I'm looking at are free-standing wardrobes that we will attach to the wall to ensure they don't tip. The current closet will essentially provide a "build-in" space for another HOPEN freestanding wardrobe. We did a similar thing in our old house- make existing closet space more efficient by getting rid of soffets and fascia- the "lip" around the top and sides of the closet that keep you from getting at all the space. That time, my husband built the glass and wood doors that look a lot like PAX STORDAL, and they were BIG- they went the whole way from the floor to the ceiling and we got TONS more storage out of that closet.
If you have shelving that is too high and things tips over, you need to reduce the height of stack by adding more shelves or use milk crates turned sideways. You can also contain the stacks by going with the nice storage boxes IKEA sells to completely contain the stuff up high,like FLAJ, KASSET and TRISSA.

Ok, I know I sound like a supervillan. They made me watch Justice League! Lex Luthor would have been far more harsh than forcing people to shop without him...her...I'm getting confused. But I AM quite evil. And, of course, poised to be extremely organized.
