OK, really not sure which thread to use for this topic...

So I am amassing a mound of #4 plastic from the cabinet packaging. Our city's curbside recyclingprogram only takes 1 and 2. Has anyone recycled this stuff - if so, what kind of a place did you use? I was thinking maybe even the receptacles for grocery bags might take it - but the stores I've checked, it doesn't give a number, just "recycle your bags here." I'm guessing most recycle-for-profit places are interested in the good stuff - copper and other metals. If anyone has ideas, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

It seems like the kind of service Ikea might provide - probably worth checking with customer service. If you're talking about the plastic that covers the boxes, I put mine in with the plastic bag recycling (we have it curbside in Seattle).

I know IKEA does have recycling bins at my store. Is it possible you'll be making the trek again for "last bits"?

I guess chances are good we'll be back at one sometime in the next few months, even though the closest is over five hours away! I didn't think of them having recycle bins at the store, so thanks for the tip! I'll just stockpile until then. Got enough other junk sitting around in the basement.

I had to ask around at my store. Finally someone knew were to tell me to go to talk to the right person to tell me where to go. The store hadn't been open long at the time, so maybe its better here now, and here's hoping it works out for you.
