Need help with designing storage..PAX??

I am trying to design a "wall of storage" in my basement and am thinking of using the PAX system, but I don't know how to design it. There is a crossbeam in the middle of the wall that decreases the ceiling height to 74 3/4". THe height of the ceiling on either side of the beam is 80". There is also a window on the left side of the room, and a water closet that jets out on the left. I've included a pic to help describe it. I'm looking to add in as much storage as possible. Some PAX for hidden storage would be great, but we can also add in some open stotrage (Expedit?) for toys and such as it will also function as a playroom. Any suggestions??

Re: Need help with designing storage..PAX??

Have you tried using the planner to outfit your space? The 2009 ver. has PAX wardrobes available. That might be a good way to start visualizing what you might want.

For open storage, you can always use PAX without the doors. That way you know things will be the same dimensions ;^)

The lowered ceiling area might be a good place for "open storage" - if you have tall units right and left of this lower area. You could put shelves *between* the two units (hang the shelves on the outsides of them) and not have to worry about the ceiling height there.

I think PAX offers a nice mix of things ffor a storage unit. Again, I'd suggest maybe playing around with the planner for this (if you're on a PC that is :^D )
