You guys are great with all the ideas! The problem for some of them is that the apartment ceiling is vaulted...I wanted to do curtains but can't do them because of the vault..

but the freestanding bookcase ideas could work definitely! I'll look at ikea this weekend.

my kitchen doorsare Applad white and my walls are painted a very soft gray so color wise I can do a lot.
