Can you buy PAX like you buy Akurum?

I'm wondering if I can buy the units w/the drawers that are touching the face of the frame when closed (not the Komplement kind) and that are meant to have doors on the top, but not buy the doors.

I want drawers, but no doors, and I'm not sure if I want all Komplement drawers.

Yep...the PAX system is also a component system. I don't have a lot of experience with it, so I can't say if EVERYTHING is sold separately, but I know you can pick and choose what you want. It may be, however, that hinges are sold with doors, drawer fronts with drawer boxes, etc.

I have a PAX catalog around here somewhere that I can check for you later, or even mail to you if you want one.

The Pax brochure I have shows everything separately (except hinges, maybe). I hope so because I've been picking up random pieces that show up in "as is" or are discontinued, and plan to buy the big frame when I have the space. AFAIK, the drawer options are the Komplement wooden drawers, plastic bins or wire baskets, which don't need a front, and the metal drawers that are more like kitchen drawers, which do need a front. I don't know of fittings other than Komplement that would fit in Pax. The wooden drawers look great without a door to cover them.

Yes, you can buy the drawers, baskets and bins separately. They will only fit in a unit the same width and depth as the Pax units, though, if you're not planning on using Pax cabinets.

If you look at my link you'll see towards the end a picture of our PAX closet. We have drawers without doors. Not sure if this is what you meant. If you want a better picture let me know and I'll email.

You need to send these photos to IKEA. Seriously. Your extensive use of Nexus Birch is amazing, not to mention inspiring. We, too, are using Nexus Birch in multiple locations so it's really nice to get a sneak peak of how ours is going to look.
