Discuss The container store on IKEAFANS.com. We're Personalizing the IKEA Experience. The container store - PAX units, Billy bookcases, Ektorp sofas, Effektiv office furniture. Any and all IKEA, inside and out!.
I have never bought anything from them but was just on their site and saw lots of neat containers that might help me organise my cabinets and drawers. We're still hoping to make a trip to IKEA this month or early next month, but in the meantime I wanted to start lining up things I would like to have from both these places.
The problem is though that I don't know the Container Store's quality
Anyone familiar with it? Should I hold off and see if I find what I might need at IKEA? I didn't see all the containers online at IKEA though. I'm looking for the square type that would fit neater into a drawer rather than rounded like I have now.
i would say definitely wait and see. container store, imo, is a bit pricey. it's fine for the things i can't find elsewhere, but if you find it at IKEA it'll be less $$....
oh, and watch out for how many square angles you're trying to fit into your drawers, i always get thrown off by the sloped innards of the ikea drawers
The Container Store makes my heart go pitter-pat! I love all things organizational. They have a couple of stores in Texas somewhere, plan to spend quite a bit of time there if you're like me.
I have a Rationell brochure if you want it, PM your address.
Eva, I was looking at the few Rationell things IKEA had online and was wondering if the drawer inserts would work for any type of cabinetry or only for IKEA's?
I would go nuts in the CS Eva because I too love organisational stuff . I find myself itching to start organising my cabinets and drawers.
Has anyone used Cushy Cupboard liner? I was reading about it online and though the price is a hot, they seem to stand up for a long time. Was at Walmart looking over what they had and having used some that adheres to the shelves in the past, I don't want that now.
Eva, feel free to pass on any organising tips. Will send a PM.
They should work fine in most drawers. The rail divider things won't but the wood and plastic stuff should. I have a few extra wood inserts for spice jars and knives, yours for shipping if you want them. I'll drag them out of the garage and take a pic if you want. I just ended up moving stuff around and didn't need them anymore.
I haven't heard of Cushy Cupboards, but IKEA sells the blue Rationell mat which can be cut to size, I think it would work great and it's like $3 for a roll of it.
Aren't the Rationell mats similar to shelf liners sold at BB&B which is a weave?
I found LifeLiners at BB&B last week and bought a couple package to try. They're a sort of plastic that is non-adhesive. So far it seems like a good product.
the IKEA drawer/shelf liner is a plastic that you cut to size - it is available in clear or a greyish-blue - not a weave at all. I really like it!!
