Welcome to IKEAFANs!

Man... It's a BIG and VERY atypical set of instructions for IKEA. Apparently they couldn't make it work with the idiotgrams, as this one's ALL text, in a bazillion languages, which is what makes it so big. They didn't even have an illustration of the clock on the instructions so I had to crib an image from elsewhere . We definitely need to look into language packs for our OCR software so I can turn the text sections of ones like this into to text vs images. Anyway, SLABANG Alarm clock instructions are up in the IKEApedia. Hope they help?

I have this clock...well, rather, my 11 year old son has it, and he's the only one who really know how it works.

Did you know it has a voice recorder so you can record something to play when the alarm goes off? Do you know how I know this? Because one afternoon I heard a series of "Jeremy, wake up" "Jeremy, WAKE UP!" "JEREMY, WAAAAAAAKKKKE UPPPP!!!!!" and upon dashing into my son's room to see what on earth was wrong, found him recording his wakeup alarm.

I offered to do that for free, right in his ear if he wanted, at 6 AM the next morning.

Better way to wake up a resistant teen?

When DH was a kid/teen, my MIL used to freeze a bag of marbles and dump them in bed with him when he wouldn't get up. I haven't resorted to that, but I do have my own 30 point wakeup system. Consists of a lot of poking, tweaking, honking, tickling and so forth. Rarely takes all 30 points to get a mostly awake DH. For those rare occasions that this doesn't work, I haul out the trusty 40 point wakeup.

Re: Slabang clock help

Hi St3Fanny and welcome! I think I deciphered what you were asking (I am somewhat text-messagespeak illiterate) and so I asked my son...he said:

Press and hold the red button on the back. A red light will go on. Speak into the speaker and let go of the red button when your recording is complete.

To set the alarm, hold down the button with the clockface on it until you hear a beep. Then you can set the alarm time. To make it wake you with your recording, move the alarm switch to the right so it is over the picture of the arrow. Under the alarm switch is the volume button.

Re: Slabang clock help

I'm hoping that someone can help me. I'm not usually too technologically challenged, but this things has me about ready to test the bouncy qualities of this neat alarm clock. The second page of the English language instructions (should be p.5) does not seem to be posted. I cannot set the clock to a 12-hour clock -- any hints?
Thanks!

Re: Slabang clock help

Push the clock-icon button once, and when all the digits flash, press + or - to get to 12-hour mode. The method is described in the PDF, although slightly truncated, it's under 'Set current time.'

(I also hope no one explodes at me for replying to a 3-month old post. )
