Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

I have installed the Kvartal 3 rail system.(Wall mount). I have a total of 6 panels. 3 panels for the left side of the window and 3 panels for the right side of the window.
Do the panels "attach" to one another so that I can pull 3 of the panels closed with one panel rod puller. And then do the same thing on the other side?
Or does each panel have to have its own curtain rod puller?
(I really don't want 6 metal panel rod pullers hanging down because I plan to open/close all the panels everyday.)

Each panel will have its own. There is nothing connecting between the ends.

Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

Hmmm, I actually think you can "connect" them somehow. If I remember correctly, the directions were really confusing but there were little "tabs" tabs you could put on each panel so that as you pulled the top one across it would "catch" the other ones. I didn't do it because I got too frustrated with it, but I thought it allowed for this. There was some very cursory pictures of it in the directions, but I don't remember it entirely.

Thumbs up Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

Yeah, your right. the plastic tabs do have that way of "catching" with each other. I think I will have to play around a bit, because those picture instructions aren't the best. Thanks, for the tip.

Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

I recently purchased the kvartal 3 rail system from the nearest IKEA store 250 miles away. When we purchased the system, we were assured by one of the teenage employees that all mounting hardware was included. Today was the day I wanted to install the system as a wall-mounted system, so I looked at the instructions (all pictures, not a single word) which showed the wall bracket, suggesting that it was included (it was nowhere to be found in the package). Did those of you that purchased this item have to purchase the wall brackets (and screws) separately? If so, are they standard items and where did you purchase them?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

Yes you have to buy the wall brackets. Each one seperately. The large brackets are for the 3 track system. The small brackets are for the singe track system. There are no mounting screws with the brackets so you will have to buy some screws that are long enough from the hardware store. I used some old screws that I had laying around in my garage.

Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

Inessa,

Thanks for your reply. I ordered the brackets and other
hardware from IKEA. One more question. I am using the
three rail system with six panels, three on each side of the sliding glass door, and I was told that I needed six pull rods. Were you able to rig it so only one rod would pull more than one panel. I would like to use one pull rod on each side to pull three panels each. Also, what are the plastic tabs you were talking about?

Thanks,
Ron C.

Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

You will only need 2 rods. 1 for each set of 3 panels. There are two different kinds of parts that are made totally with plastic. The long stick like plastic parts you put on each of your panels towards the center of each panel.
The "flat" plastic part getsgets screwed into metal edging of the fabric panels. where the overlap of you panel begins. That way the plast tabs will "catch on to each other" as you pull or push the curtain slowly with the rod.

Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

innessa, I am also about to get the Kvartal 3 rail system, ceiling mount but am leary. Is there any chance you could forward a pic so I could see what the system looks like? I want to get this for my daughter's room (which we converted from a spare room) to give her some privacy. I've been reading some of the posts and am getting the feeling it's complicated to order right the first time. I like the idea that you could pull one rod to move 3 panels. I'd appreciate any help or advice you could give me.

Re: Question about Kvartal 3 rail system

I purchased the KVARTAL 3 rod system for a wall mount. I do not have enough room on both sides of my window to have two panels open in each direction. Has anyone added a fourth rail to pull four panels in one direction?
