I wanted the white one but it's discontinued now (is that right?) so what normally happens now? Will they discontinue the red too? Are there plans for new colors?
I'm not familiar with the usual life spans for these kinds of things and I'm trying to decide if I should just settle for the red or wait to see what happens. I'm scared I might miss out completely.
IIRC, these are painted finishes, so theoretically you can get a red and repaint it white.

My Local Ikea is having sales now. Normally, those sales item is for clearance, so when you see sales item, you know, if you don't grab it now, they might discontinue. Just happen i checked up this table last sunday. It is not in the sales list and it still got plenty of stock in my area. So i think it will come back, don't worry too much.
Thanks for the replies. I thought about painting it but the thing is I feel why paint something that doesn't need painting? Kind of like if it aint' broke don't fix it...until it needs fixing. I dunno. But I might do that.
Actually i like that table also. That is 2 available in As Is right now, one is red and one is white. But the edge is dented, can you imagine, both dented at same place?
That's why i still thinking, maybe buy a Vika Byske and cut into that peanut shape.
I really hope you're right Macks...but when I googled the white table some of the results said it was discontinued...and even though it's on ikea's site still it seems to be out of stock at every store I checked in the US.
Is it just me, or did Ikea invent the perfect DJ table?? The only problem is securing the center of gravity to avoid swaying. I installed a 5th leg right in the middle, but I've had to use a couple of books as wedges as well (a History of the UK, in case you're wondering...). Will look into other, more ergonomic methods, but for the moment it works great. Space in the front for the DJ and space behind for the wires. Adjustable legs from Ikea allow for a standing room height. Anyone know who designed the Vika Manne? And does it mean anything? Just curious.
