IKEA Youth and Children Photo: Our nursery, with help from IKEA
Image Title: Our nursery, with help from IKEA
Description: Our nursery is a combination of repurposed items from the house and a few new purchases - both including IKEA items. Our goal was to create a lovely room without spending a ton of money - good for both our budget and the Earth.
So, out went the PAX wardrobe system and PS sofa bed via Craigs, and in went wall-to-wall closets in the master (older house = no bedroom closets). The wall colour and carpet were unchanged from the previous owner and we kept up the curtain and rod we'd used in the room, both IKEA.
What came into the room:
IKEA - repurposed corner shelf, 10 yrs old!, painted white
new Jarpen shelf and Valter bracktes, painted white
new Leksvik rack with hooks
repurposed silver collapsable laundry hamper (holds
toys)
new Knood pail (for diapers)
new Agen baskets (for onesies and diapers, plus
another under the crib for sheet storage)
Other repurposed - six drawer dresser from the master
bedroom for clothes and change table
Other new - crib and bedding, rocking chair pillows
I really liked the Gulliver crib, but when I saw it in person the mattress was so low! I couldn't imagine bending over 6X times a day to haul my child out, and there's no drop side to make it easier.
