Title Living Room Update...2011
Details about the pictures in this set I'd like to share with others... Tore out my old kitchen in 2010 and replaced it with an IKEA kitchen. This year, we took an under-utilized dining room and turned it back into a living room. We were going for plush and comfy furniture, family friendly, while trying to maximize the small 12' X 15' space. We used a Kivik loveseat and chaise (Tranas Light Brown covers), 2 Jappling Leather chairs, and two Kilby bookcases. The curtains are from IKEA too...Felicia in orange, and the mirror is the Mongstad in black/brown (hung horizontally).

The ceilings in the room peak at 14' high, and the plant shelf is 9' high. We modified the Kilby bookcases by sawing 28" off of one and stacking it on top of the other bookcase. Now the bookcase matches the height of the plant shelf and wrapped the bottom with baseboard and shoe molding so that it looks built in. I plan to add more molding around the edges and paint them to match the wall, so it looks seamless.

Overall, the sofa went together easily...I did it by myself. One important thing to note is that the covers dont just "slip off." The cushion covers do, but to change the main frame covers, you'd have to take the sofa apart. Just something to remember...

The first day the new sofa was in the room, our dog "marked" it while we were gone. I took the cover off, rinsed the spot under the faucet (from the inside of the cover out) and then sprayed it with Febreeze. It dried with no spots and luckily no one knows the dog peed on it. It says dry clean only, but luckily the spot cleaning was okay.
