For those of you seeking to find IKEA furniture, IKEA kitchen cabinets and other IKEA projects in 3D for use in AutoCAD, Google Sketchup or other 3D rendering software, we’ve found a gem of a project by skulking around over on Twitter.
Through @polantis, we discovered that Polantis.com offers over 90 3D IKEA objects. Polantis is a project developed by Architects for Architects, but Interior Designers, decorators and even DIYers could benefit greatly from this free service. From the Polantis About Us page:
…Motivated by the desire to present their clients with highly realistic designs, Architects and Interior Designers often waste a lot of time and money drawing 3D objects themselves.
Polantis offers Architecture Professionals the unique possibility to easily download 2D and 3D objects and to integrate them into their projects. Our objects are drawn, textured and rendered in the highest quality level, and are available in all architectural software formats. Most importantly, this service is entirely FREE OF CHARGE.
Objects can be downloaded in .max, .dwg, .png, .rfa, .dgn, .skp, .pdf and more. The user’s manual isn’t complete yet, but the system seems pretty self-explanatory. What a great addition to our design arsenal!

3D IKEA furniture for use in AutoCAD, Google SketchUp

This is so fantastic. I generated a bunch of models in SketchUp for a different cabinet line and was using them b/c I was too lazy to make a whole new set! thanks, polantis - I already registered. It will be so much nicer to produce quick visuals for clients now!
cheers!

It would be great if I could use your 3ds directly in my designs and show
my clients how beautiful your furniture looks in their spaces!!
